Attendance in class is mandatory; I will keep attendance logs and penalize repeated absences. Please be prepared to provide a genuine, documented reason (such as a medical or family emergency) if you cannot make it to a class. The same holds for missed exams - if I am satisfied with the documentation, I will arrange for a suitable make-up mechanism.
Finally, I would like to draw your attention to the university's Code of Student Conduct which, among other things, details the university policies for dealing with violations of academic integrity such as cheating in any manner or form. Please understand that while you can study together with other fellow students, any assigned work - including the online quizzes - must be demonstrably your own. If you are caught cheating in this course, you will be immediately penalized one letter grade (from an A to a B etc.). A second offense will result in a failing grade on the course and further disciplinary action and sanctions as mandated by university policies.
