Evaluation of Transfer Credit

The Office of Admissions is responsible for determining the transferability of course work from other regionally accredited institutions once the student has accepted the offer of admission and submitted official college transcripts. The evaluation of transfer credit will be mailed and sent electronically to students shortly after they acknowledge their intent to enroll.

The evaluation of transfer credit will indicate what, if any, placement test(s) are required. Placement testing registration is required. Once the results of the placement tests are available, or if placement testing is not required, students are able to register for courses. You may register online at webreg.rutgers.edu, but please be sure to check carefully that your courses appropriately fit Rutgers requirements. If you wish to meet with an academic advisor for assistance with the registration process, you can do so on Transfer Day (bring your evaluation of transfer credit, general education and degree requirement checklist, and a tentative schedule of classes). You can also make an appointment with an assistant dean for academic advising. If you have not yet declared a major or are in the College of Arts & Sciences or University College, please call 956-225-6043 for an appointment. Students currently enrolled at another college when admitted to Rutgers must submit an updated, final oficial transcript upon completion of the semester. Once received an updated evaluation of transfer credit will be completed. At the time of course registration students are responsible for informing academic advisors of any completed course work not appearing on the transfer evaluation.

Students who have attended a New Jersey county or community college may visit www.njtransfer.org for information on the transferability of courses to Rutgers-Camden. Please be aware that the total maximun number of credits that may be transferred from all county or community colleges attended is 64.
