- Prerequisites:
- CS 171 or approved equivalent.
- Required Books:
- Two textbooks will be used
during the course: Elements of the Theory of
Computation (2nd Edition) by Lewis &
Papadimitriou (ISBN No. 0-13-262478-8) and
JFLAP: An interactive formal languages and
automata package. The latter book is available
through the book store. You will be better off
getting a used copy of the former book: copies are
usually available online at several used-book consolidators like
amazon.com for a low price.
