Enter you name

Examine the maps below in chronological order as presented on the time line. Discuss the differences (and submit your responses) between the maps in relation to:

1. Discuss the perceptions of the geography of the North American continent as different from South America, Europe and Asia. Discuss this in relation to notions of "Doctrine of Discovery".

2. Discuss the naming of certain land areas with regard to tribal designations. Based on the information on the maps, what can be learned about European perception of occupation and or ownership of land in North America. Pay particular attention to the later colonial maps.
