Professor Meloy received her Ph.D. in 2001 from the University of Delaware's Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice. Her research areas include intimate partner violence, sex crimes and sexual offenders, and criminal justice policy. In 2006 she completed a research monograph entitled Sex offenses and the men who commit them (Northeastern University Press) and she is co-authoring a book with Susan L. Miller on criminal victimizations targeting women and children (Oxford University Press). Dr. Meloy teaches courses in gender and crime, family violence, criminal courts, and victim's issues.
