We hope that this study brings an in-depth understanding of consumers with ADD/ADHD through their experiences, problems, and suggestions.  This study has shed considerable light on the concept of impulsivity and helps us to bring greater insight to our colleagues and our students.

Study Methodology:

1.  I have followed the ADD/ADHD literature for years, given that several relatives, numerous college students, and several friends of mine have ADD/ADHD.  My students have encouraged me to try to learn if persons with ADD/ADHD experience any specific problems with products, shopping, or with advertising.  The survey below is posted to allow interested persons with ADD/ADHD to share their experiences anonymously.  If you are interested in participating, please read the study explanation below so that you are fully informed on the process and the use of the survey information.

I am trying to learn about the experiences of persons with ADD/ADHD in their lives as consumers. I'd also like to learn how those experiences compare to the experiences of persons without ADD/ADHD.  The following survey would help me to understand such experiences in using products, responding to advertising messages, and shopping in retail store formats. The survey asks you to report your specific feelings as best as you are able.

2.  Before beginning the survey, there are a few things I'd like you to know:

a. When you submit your responses, all identifying information will be automatically removed. There is no way to link your responses to your email address, your name, or any other personal information.

b. Your responses will be analyzed as part of a group in order to understand what persons with ADD/ADHD really experience.

c. You must be an adult who is 21 years old or older to participate in this survey.

d. Your responses will be used in analyzing what possible improvements might be made in consumer products, labeling, advertising, and retail settings to make your shopping experiences more productive and enjoyable. The results will be submitted to academic marketing publications in order to present the findings of the entire group of respondents.
