On Teaching Style:

"How I know that Alok's teaching has made a permanent impact on my education: Alok's teaching style is very interactive. He does not lecture or read to me. We are actually expected to think. The other day, in one of my other classes (the lecture kind), I found that I was dying to interject - to give my idea about why things happened. Then, I remembered that I 'wasn't supposed to interact' during lecture. What a disappointment! Alok has taught me to think on my own - come to my own conclusions"

"Prof. Baveja was a very good teacher. He persisted until everyone understood the material. He had a deep concern for his students. Suggested many applications"

"He made the class fun and fun to learn. It's a shame he does not teach here on a regular basis [referring to NB campus]. He does everything perfect. He has taught me that learning can be a good thing and that it's not as boring as it seems. He is a great teacher"

"Very good instructor. He taught us the analytical tools to use, but more importantly he taught us to think"

"Knowledge and respect professor gave to the students" (in response to - what do you like best about this course)

"Alok's teaching method - He generated series of related questions that students had to answer in order to understand and move further on in the material. Alok was a very effective teacher"

"I liked the new book we used that came with all the software. Crystal Ball was especially nice. More than anything, I enjoyed Alok's teaching style and the way he taught us to think. Alok really showed me how to step back and look at things from a different point of view. I found that especially helpful when trying to solve problems. I also enjoyed his wisdom he shared with us.
