TRiO Student Support Services

"We are realizing our potential - together"

Program Overview

TRiO Student Support Services is a program designed to help Pell-eligible, first generation college students and students with disabilities graduate from college. Student Support Services is one of the Federal TRiO programs and is supported by the U.S. Department of Education.

What is TRiO?

Federal TRiO programs began in the 1960s with the first three programs: Upward Bound(1964), Talent Search (1965), and Student Support Services (1968). Since then, the TRiO program has expanded to include Educational Opportunity Centers, TRiO Dissemination Partnership Program, Training Program for Federal TRiO Programs Staff, Upward Bound, and Upward Bound Math-Science.

Our mission is to provide services and opportunities that support increased retention and graduation rates among program participants. Our goal is to create a supportive learning environment for 160 Rutgers-Camden TRiO participants to access academic and financial support that promotes persistence toward graduation.

The TRiO SSS program is located in the RUCAM College of Arts and Sciences in the University College/EOF offices on the 3rd floor of Armitage Hall, Room 366.
