2.     What does the current presidential election campaign tell you about American Politics? Specifically, what does it reveal about our expectations about government and our political philosophy? You should be sure to consider the different approaches to government advocated by Vice President Gore and Governor Bush, respectively, and what the nearly even race tells you.

3.    What is meant by the shift in Congress to professionalism? Be sure to define the concept of a "professional" legislator and to explain its significance for the way Congress operates and the kinds of policies Congress makes.
