Podcasting enables anyone to have audio content delivered automatically to their PC, Mac or mobile device whenever a new MP3 file is placed on the website. Content is available online in an RSS (Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary) format. Using an application to "subscribe," to a podcast the software checks the Rutgers-Camden site regularly and downloads new content.

What is Podcasting?
Podcasting is a web-based broadcast medium. Audio files are made available online in a way that allows software to automatically detect the availability of new files and download the files for listening at the user's convenience.

What software do I need to use?
To start listening to our podcasts, you need software that can subscribe to an RSS podcast feed. Here are two free subscribers. You also need a media player to play the actual files. iTunes works well because it is both an aggregator and player and is available for both formats: Mac and PC.
