Working in a research lab, I got a taste of what research science really is. It includes hard work, a clear mind, determination, accuracy, and most importantly, the enthusiasm to explore. Before I took this special problems class, I thought it was just a regular chemistry lab in which most of the work coould be predicted and found in the library. However, in this lab, most of the work has not been studied by any one before and I am the one that is doing the exploration. It is really an exciting job. Also, it is a place where I can learn from making mistakes. This research also made me think about going to graduate school. I was sure that I didn't want to be a lab technician where repeating procedures always occupies most of the working hours. However, I didn't know what else I coould do. Now, I am in a career dilemma. On the one hand I have a fammily obligation. On the other hand, I really want to learn some more chemistry. Anyway, I still have one year to think about my future, and I hope I will make the right decision.
