STS:  Computers and Society:  Summer 2001.    Assignment Four.   Revised June 15, 2001.

Type Your Name Here:

This assignment must be completed and submitted in html format to the WEBCT drop box by the date and time due.

Prepare a presentation consisting of five linked WEB pages, similar in structure to There's Something About South Jersey.  This means that the first page should link to the second page with a "continue" hyperlink.  The second link should have a "previous" hyperlink going back to the first page and a "continue" hyperlink going to the third page.  And so on to the last page, which has a "previous" hyperlink to the fourth page.

For a sample of this assignment, check out Andy's presentation on:  Artistic Freedom on the WEB(It not quite finished as yet, the fourth slide needs one more bullet point and it needs one more page with the conclusions.  I'm sure Andy will have these done before Monday when he will present it to the class.)

Your presentation pages should be published on your WEB site, and there should be a link to the first page from your sts page.

Submitting the assignment:

1.  The presentation should be up and working on your WEB site.  Put a working hyperlink to the first page of your presentation here:

2.  Make sure there is a working hyperlink to the first page of your presentation on your sts.htm page.

2.  As a backup, also upload all of the files into WEBCT and submit them with this page.  This will give us something to grade if we can't get your WEB site to work.  This will also show us what was completed by the deadline, whereas you can keep improving your WEB site after the deadline.

3.  Alternative Option:  If you prefer, you may prepare your presentation in PowerPoint instead of in html.  If you do this, however, you must convert the PowerPoint to html (PowerPoint will do that for you) and post the files to your WEB site.  This will probably involve changing the file name of the first "page" since PowerPoint is likely to label it "index.html".  Or you can create a sub-directory on your html site for the presentation (if you know how to do that).  If you prepare the presentation in PowerPoint, submit the PowerPoint file to the WEBCT dropbox instead of the html files.  However, the presentation must be posted on your WEB site in html.
