This course covers communication in small groups, in businesses and organizations, in interviews, in focus groups, in the mass media and on the Internet.  We will read some theories of communication, including the work of Marshal McLuhan who coined the phrase "the media is the message."  We will be practicing leadership and communication skills in class, so regular attendance is essential.

We will learn to use communication software including Power Point and Netscape Composer.  Each student will post a home page on a World Wide Web site.  You may use computers at Rutgers or your own home computer if you have the appropriate software.
