Interactive Teaching and Learning: The course will integrate "aging" games, role plays and experiential learning with reading assignments, lectures, films, and in-class discussions. Students are expected to attend each session and come prepared to discuss the assigned reading materials.
Films and Videos: All the films shown in this class document important issues and concepts relevant to the sociology of aging. They supplement the reading asignments and enhance the understanding of the aging topic we are addressing. (Note: Questions about the movies will also be included in the exams.)WebCT: The course work management system, WebCT, will be used for selected purposes in this course. By virtue of being enrolled in this course, you will automatically have access to WebCT. Click on the WebCT link (either on the navigation bar or the link highlighted within the text) and log into "My WebCT."
In addition to the WebCT Discussion Board, we will also be required to retrieve articles, addressing key issues in aging, which are provided on the Web CT reading list.
