- This is a
one-semester course designed to prepare students for the three-semester
Unified Calculus sequence.
- Topics covered in
this course are Basic Algebra, Equations and Inequalities, Graphs and
Functions (including: Polynomial and Rational, and Exponential and
Logarithmic Functions), Trigonometric Functions (including: Identities
and Formulas, Graphs, and Inverse Functions), and Systems of Linear
Equations.
- We will cover
Chapter 1-6, Section 50 and some of Chapter 7,9, and 10.

2 Tests: 40% Final: 30%
- NOTE: It's important that you DO attend class
regularly and hand in your assignments. Homework assignments
are expected to be done individually. Discussions about the ideas of an
assignment and about general information with others
is encouraged; but the actual writing should be done
completely independently. You should explain and present your work in your own words of how you understand the
problems. Copying (or jointly writing) large portions of an assignment
is considered cheating. Test or Exam
materials are based on homework problems and topics covered during my
lectures.
