Course Title: Organometallic Chemistry of the Transition Elements - Theory and Practice Course Outline: This course is intended for graduate, senior undergrad students and those who work in industry to get up to speed with the latest developments in transition metal organometallic chemistry. The course material will reflect on the recent advances relevant in homogeneous catalysis, while giving a comprehensive introduction to the principles and general properties of organometallic compounds. One of the major thrusts of this course is to introduce the student to the contemporary applications of organometallic compounds in organic synthesis, polymerization reactions, etc. Depending on the number of students, students may be asked to make a group presentation and write a paper related to the presentation. Prerequisite - Sr undergraduate courses: Inorganic Chemistry -I is not a prerequisite, but would be useful.
