form for Five Paragraph Essays
The general topic of these essays is
"How My Values Have Been Effected by the
Media". But you need to narrow it down by discussing how one idea
from either Each of these ideas is complex and has several
facets or components, which are discussed in the readings and on the
powerpoint. Schiller or Gitlin relate to one television show,
radio programs, Web site, magazine,
newspaper column, etc.
In grading the
essays, I will be looking for specific explanations about how arguments
from the book
relate to media that have been meaningful in your own life.
Your title should be designed to get the reader's interest, e.g., "How
Martha Steward Living Shaped My Philosophy of Life" or "Growing Up in
the
Peanut Gallery."
