Georgia Arbuckle congratulates her Ph.D. advisor, Alan G. MacDiarmid, on being one of the recipients of the 2000 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the discovery of conducting polymers.  Georgia Arbuckle's Ph.D thesis focused on the prototype conducting polymer, polyacetylene.
